Job Offer – Animal Caretaker with Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (80% annualised)

Our dog boarding facility, active for 26 years, is looking for a qualified, autonomous, and motivated animal caretaker who wishes to commit long-term within the company, with the possibility of progressive advancement towards greater responsibilities in company management.

Position

Activity rate: 80% annualised.

Start date: 1st September 2026, permanent contract.

A two-week internship immersion during July or August 2026 would be appreciated.

Private vehicle required.

Profile sought

  • Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (CFC) as an animal caretaker or equivalent recognised training. Mandatory experience in the canine field. Autonomous, reliable, and organised person with excellent ease in handling dogs.
  • Very good customer contact, good physical condition essential, ability to work alone, good communication and sense of responsibility, calm and effective management of unforeseen events (minor injuries, special situations, information to owners, etc.)
  • Comfortable with basic IT tools: Word, Excel, emails, calendar; comfortable with a cash register and payment tracking.
  • Local applications will be given priority.

Main duties: Care and management of dogs

Feeding, administration of medication, and routine care: eyes, ears, wounds, bandages, showers, and general maintenance of dogs.

Customer relations

Welcoming clients, arrivals and departures of boarders, telephone responses, visits and information, communication with clients regarding the dogs’ follow-up and any unforeseen events.

Maintenance and upkeep

Daily cleaning of indoor and outdoor premises, disinfection of areas, use of cleaning equipment and machines (steam, etc.)

Minor interior and exterior maintenance work.

Working conditions

Fixed hours based on the following schedule: 07:45 – 11:45 and 14:00 – 18:00, two full days off per week.

Work base: 40 hours/week at 100% presence, increased and mandatory during school holidays.

Possibility to occasionally work Sundays and public holidays, remunerated in addition to the fixed salary.

4 weeks of holiday per year, including two weeks deducted from the annual balance during the annual closure of the boarding facility from 1st to 15th November.

Possible advancement

Depending on involvement and developed skills, the position may evolve towards greater participation in company management.
