The Natural Hazards Service (SDANA), with its technical and scientific expertise, is responsible for natural hazards throughout Valais. Our mission in the Rhône and Léman section: to ensure the safety, revitalisation and sustainability of the RhôneOur areas of activity
- Planning and implementation :Planning and execution of various measures of the 3rd correction of the Rhône (flood protection, revitalisation, accessibility) and maintenance of the Rhône
- Analysis and Forecasting : Use of the latest technologies in meteorology, hydrometeorology, GIS, alarm/intervention plans, watercourse maintenance, management of protective structures and implementation of hydraulic development projects
- Urgent measures : Technical assistance in case of floods and implementation of restoration measures in case of damage
- Cooperation and exchange : regular exchanges with federal, cantonal and municipal authorities, engineering offices, construction companies and companies specialised in measurement, alert and alarm systems
Your tasks
- You ensure the implementation of the measures of the 3rd correction of the Rhône in the Upper Valais sector of the Rhône and Léman section
- You manage the technical, administrative and financial aspects of the measures for all areas of integrated risk management
- You supervise the work of the commissioned engineering offices and construction companies and ensure compliance with the conditions imposed by SDANA specialists and cantonal and federal authorities
- You support the service in current strategic issues such as climate change management
Your profile
- ETH/University of Applied Sciences engineer in civil or environmental engineering or equivalent training
- Experience in the design and implementation of interdisciplinary infrastructure projects
- Professional experience in watercourse development
- Good interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy and experience in managing conflict and negotiation situations
- Initiative and sense of responsibility
- Ability to work independently
- Native German speaker with knowledge of French or native French speaker with excellent knowledge of German
