With nearly 1,000 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (D-MA) includes services in anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, adult intensive care, and adult emergency services. It fulfills a quadruple mission through its services that bring their expertise in frequent interaction with all the University Hospitals of Geneva, aiming to ensure the best possible care. The Intensive Care Service manages patients who present or are at risk of developing vital organ failures due to medical or surgical pathologies where the vital risk is usually engaged. It also advises and intervenes as needed during crises in other HUG services and participates in urgent hospital interventions. In our Intensive Care Service, you will provide high-technical nursing care encompassing preventive and curative dimensions. These care services are personalized and holistic, provided to patients of all ages presenting different levels of complexity. Intensive monitoring of patients, implementing prescribed pain therapies, executing emergency measures, and operating medical-technical devices are part of your daily routine. All care is delivered competently, holistically, and consistently.You are prepared to face the complexity of challenges encountered and emergency interventions, acting quickly, flexibly, and within the scope of the activities delegated to you. You will also collaborate in mentoring and supervising new nursing staff, nursing students, nursing assistants, and other health professionals.
