The Museum of History of the City of Geneva (MHNG) is one of the main scientific and cultural institutions in Switzerland. It carries out research missions in science and culture. To strengthen its management team, the MHNG is looking for a Director at 100%. Your mission and responsibilities:- Contribute to the overall governance of the MHNG and ensure the stability, coherence, and efficiency of the institution and its two sites (Museum of the History of Science).- Lead the Shared Services Unit (UASP) and ensure the institutional translation of policies.- Support the Director in your area of activity and ensure management continuity in their absence.- As a member of management, contribute to governance, facilitate inter-unit collaboration, and represent the institution in various internal and external settings.- Develop annual budgets and multi-year financial plans, oversee accounting, and guarantee compliance with the rules of the City of Geneva.- Manage tenders, institutional contracts, and suppliers.- Supervise technical, logistical, security, and reception teams, and conduct interviews.- Oversee the Internal Management System (SCI), develop internal procedures, and supervise audits.- Supervise infrastructure, maintenance, building security, and logistics for exhibitions and events.- Coordinate developments and contribute to projects.Profile:- Hold a university degree in management, public finance, or a similar qualification, and have confirmed experience in a management and financial role.- Possess excellent knowledge of public finance, internal control, and processes ideally in a public or semi-public environment.- Demonstrate leadership and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.- Show solid experience in managing cross-functional projects and change management.- Exhibit rigor, a strong sense of organization, and high adaptability.- Adopt a strong institutional stance, demonstrate composure, and possess excellent communication skills.- Be fully proficient in oral and written French.- Knowledge of the museum or cultural sector, proficiency in English or even German in a professional context, a strong interest in science, and experience in fundraising are all assets.Application procedure:Application deadline: Start date: to be agreed uponFunction classification: ongoingYour application must contain the following elements:- A cover letter- A Curriculum Vitae or, if unavailable, a completed job application form (to be downloaded from our website)- Copies of diplomas and relevant work certificates- A recent passport-sized photoAs part of the recruitment process of the City of Geneva, the recruitment process is decentralized.
