Your mission
Within our establishment l'Ombelle, sporting activity is essential for the development of every young person, and even more necessary for our pupils. Whether it is dealing with a history of trauma or overcoming the difficulty of integrating disability, your role will be to prevent the child’s devaluation or collapse by enabling them to enjoy moving. Referring to the PER (Romand Study Plan), you will help pupils discover their bodies and progress through multiple and varied exercises.
Your job description
Weekly teaching: Responsible for 2 periods of indoor sport per week for primary and secondary classes.
Aquatic activities: Leading swimming periods (fortnightly) for the primary cycle.
Institutional events: Organisation and coordination of the annual sports competition day.
Specific projects: Design and implementation of institutional or class sports challenges, in connection with the projects of other professionals.
Educational objectives by cycle
For the primary cycle:
• To convey the pleasure of moving, running, jumping, throwing, catching and rolling.
• To learn to play as a team while respecting others, managing emotions and integrating the concepts of attack and defence.
• To introduce apparatus (basic positions) and tchoukball.
• To teach endurance management and effort pacing (e.g. running).
• To support swimming: getting comfortable with water, overcoming fears and teaching the 3 basic strokes (crawl, breaststroke, back crawl).
For the secondary cycle:
• To encourage pupils to fully engage in each physical activity.
• To develop team play by incorporating tactical patterns (smart passes, counter-attacks).
• To introduce new sports disciplines (e.g. kin-ball).
• To physically and mentally prepare pupils for a 4-kilometre run.
• To support the discovery of physical and psychological limits (e.g. fear management) to promote progress.
