Val Fleuri, a living place (EMS), is a medicalised residence with 208 beds that welcomes people weakened by age and illness. Our nursing care, hospitality, dietetics, administration, sociocultural animation and reception-admission services consist of multidisciplinary teams, committed, qualified and trained professionals who support our elders in an adapted, secure and pleasant structure. Within this framework, we offer numerous activities for the Residents.
We are looking for our catering sector:
A 100% RESTAURANT MANAGER
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced restaurant manager to join our team and contribute to the management of the catering sector. You will be responsible for customer satisfaction and the smooth running of the dining room. This position is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly expanding institution and play a key role in the gastronomic renewal of our establishment.
Main missions:
Dining room and event management:
- Ensure the follow-up of the setup and optimal organisation of the dining room before each service;
- Implement and monitor the various events organised within Val Fleuri;
- Devise and implement new service offers and organise operating procedures;
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant and its equipment.
Team supervision:
- Supervise, train and motivate the team of waiters to guarantee high-quality service;
- Organise and lead team meetings (briefings and debriefings), supervise, involve and motivate staff to ensure good internal communication;
- Be capable of replacing any member of the catering team, whatever the reason.
Customer service:
- Ensure the satisfaction of residents, their families and staff coming to dine, respond to their needs and resolve any issues with professionalism and courtesy.
Coordination:
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination between the dining room and kitchen;
- Collaborate closely with the care, animation and supply departments.
Administrative management:
- Oversee reservations, manage service equipment stocks and ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards;
- Plan teams with the best possible efficiency;
- Produce forecasts related to human and material resources, and compare the difference between estimated needs and reality on the ground;
- Manage the cash register and money movements as well as control and ensure the operation of the cancellation computer system.
Commercial development:
- Actively participate in the implementation of strategies to attract and retain customers;
- Present an attractive menu and study menu planning with the Head Chef;
- Support management in concept reflection, animations and propose adjustments.
Profile sought:
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Dining Room Manager in a restaurant with table service.
Leadership:
- Excellent management and communication skills, with proven ability to motivate and lead a team;
- Decisiveness and determination.
Customer orientation:
- Strong customer service sense, with ability to anticipate and proactively meet customer needs;
- Experience in a medico-social establishment is a definite asset;
- Knowledge of companies in the Geneva area is a plus.
Organisation:
- Great rigour and organisational skills, with ability to manage several tasks simultaneously;
- Excellent knowledge in organising conferences and banquets (event management up to 300 people);
- Schedule management, knowledge of PEP software is an asset;
- This typical job involves prolonged standing and many manual handling tasks;
- Required to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Languages:
- Mastery of French and English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
