Strategic Buyer (M/F)


Our client, a major player in the agri-food industry in French-speaking Switzerland, is looking for a Strategic Buyer to strengthen its Purchasing team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the definition and deployment of Purchasing strategies by category, in collaboration with various internal stakeholders.
  • Analyse supplier markets and conduct studies to identify the best opportunities.
  • Manage tenders, commercial negotiations and contracting with suppliers.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance in collaboration with Quality, R&D, Production and Logistics teams.
  • Identify and anticipate purchasing-related risks and implement appropriate action plans.
  • Represent the Purchasing function in new product development projects and ensure compliance with Purchasing processes throughout the project cycle.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes to optimise costs, quality, deadlines and total cost of ownership (TCO).

Candidate Profile

  • Higher education with a technical, commercial or Supply Chain orientation.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a strategic Buyer role within an industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in negotiation, supplier management and purchasing project management.
  • Excellent communication skills, team spirit and service orientation.
  • Leadership, autonomy, sense of responsibility and ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Good command of an ERP (SAP is an advantage).
  • Fluent French.
  • Good level of German (minimum B1).
  • Professional English.
