The position is in the Department of Women, Children, and Adolescents, which aims to provide quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives, as well as to address the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to 16 years old. Gathering nearly a hundred staff members, the DFEA continually develops cutting-edge facilities and areas of expertise in several specialties. The pediatric surgery service covers the surgical treatment of various conditions, including congenital disorders, diseases, or post-accident complications; it specifically includes surgical treatment and perioperative follow-up from birth to adulthood. It also includes monitoring potential surgical issues that do not require surgical intervention. The pediatric surgery service is a primary, secondary, and tertiary center: it handles children with simple and common conditions, as well as complex and highly specialized problems. Geneva is the reference center for pediatric liver diseases and orthopedic surgery in Switzerland and is one of the two units of the pediatric surgery service within the Department of Women, Children, and Adolescents at the University Hospitals of Geneva. The orthopedic unit is responsible for the management of both outpatient and inpatient cases regarding diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical plans for congenital and acquired conditions affecting the musculoskeletal apparatus and the spine of children and adolescents, both electively and emergently. As an internal medicine physician in orthopedics (100%), you are responsible for ensuring the quality of medical care in the units of your area of expertise. Your sense of responsibility and your ability to work effectively allow you to comply with rules and procedures. You coordinate activities as well as the diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients entrusted to you in close collaboration with chief physicians or attending physicians. Working in a stimulating academic environment within a multidisciplinary team, you also contribute to the training of physicians. You hold a medical degree or an equivalent title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO). We are looking for an internal medicine physician with strong foundational knowledge in orthopedic surgery (minimum two years of experience in orthopedic surgery). Ideally, this position in our Unit should be part of an exposure to orthopedics within a residency program focused on orthopedic surgery. A published or ongoing thesis, as well as scientific publications in the field of orthopedic surgery, is a plus. For non-French speakers, a certified level of C1 in spoken and written French is preferred. Working hours are regular. Start date: Number of positions: 1. Activity rate: 100%.
