He/she manages a broad team of polymechanics, plans and coordinates production, while implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve the objectives. The role also includes responsibility for the apprenticeship center, overseeing the complete program for polymechanic apprentices over a 4-year cycle.Responsibilities:Management of machining processes- Define and deploy the strategies for milling and CNC turning activities- Optimize machine availability and productive hours- Ensure a high level of quality and sustainably reduce non-conformities- Ensure compliance with production deadlinesManagement of the apprenticeship center- Supervise and structure the program for polymechanic apprentices over 4 years- Ensure effective time management of apprentices toward successful completion of the CFC (Federal Certificate of Capacity)- Mentor interns and ensure continuous quality and industrial performanceIdentify process levers and cost reduction- Implement concrete actions to improve productivity and efficiency- Define and monitor performance indicators (KPIs)- Set up dashboards and ensure regular reporting- Adjust actions based on feedback and process evaluations- Train and support teams in adopting new processes- Develop, formalize, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the departmentCompliance and standards- Ensure process compliance with legal and regulatory requirements- Ensure adherence to applicable ISO standards and ESG standardsJob Requirements & Experience:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent deemed acceptable- Proven experience in a machining environment- Successful team management experienceTechnical Skills:- Strong mastery of CNC programming and machine operation- Experience with various machining equipment (milling, turning)- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)- Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC preferred)- Knowledge of SAP is a significant advantageManagerial & Personal Skills:- Assertive leadership and ability to unite multidisciplinary teams- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills- Attention to detail and good command of French and English- Knowledge of German is highly recommended jid1add2f5aen jit0208aen jpiy26aen
