The Municipal Library Service (BMU) is attached to the Department of Culture and Digital Transition of the City of Geneva. With its network of libraries in the districts and its outreach services, the BMU service is an essential support to the local policy carried out by the City of Geneva. Reception, Security and Facilities Manager at 80%




Your mission and responsibilities

- Manage the entity's staff, supervise and organise reception activities.

- Plan staff to ensure the continuity of the library's reception posts.

- Monitor the quality of services provided, and propose then implement continuous improvement measures.

- Ensure compliance with procedures and the regulatory framework.

- Conduct interviews, support skills development and identify training needs of team members.

- Contribute to welcoming, guiding and informing the public as well as external service providers.

- Assist the public with loan and return transactions of documents, and register new users.

- Contribute to the surveillance of spaces and raise public awareness of usage rules.

- Manage the facilities of the premises (maintenance, cleanliness, use of spaces and security).

- Monitor alarms (fire, intrusion).

- Ensure the application of security measures and manage the evacuation of the building in accordance with emergency procedures.

Your profile

- Have commercial training or training related to customer service (hospitality, after-sales service, reservation service).
- Demonstrate proven experience in public/customer reception and team management.
- Master office IT tools.
- Show interpersonal ease and good management of stress and unforeseen events.
- Demonstrate natural and attentive leadership.
- Possess knowledge of the main cultural institutions in Geneva.
- Show flexibility in working hours, as the position involves evening work, every other Saturday and some Sundays according to a pre-defined schedule.
